I told them so!!
He will appeal, but still I am *very* disappointed in Dr. Mark!!! Dr.
Mark if you are reading this, read my lips. What comes around goes
around.
I will bet that Curio is also having a great good laugh too!!!
Who will be the next LART gang member to go down?
Bets anyone?
I will also bet that Brad is having himself a great good laugh and so is
the new lady Linda.

Sheesh. I have not been reading this group much over the last year
or so. I pop back in to find this news.

Takes me back five or six years. Morin was an expert on child sex
abuse; false memories; and false accusations. Basically his tone
suggested that they did not happen. But basically he came across as
an asshole, one of perhaps two or three I've come across in ten years
of usenet.

And now I find the news article above which refers to him being
convicted of child sex abuse. Absolutely amazing. Or does the news
article refer to a completely different Morin than the guy that posted
on this group?

He seemed wierd, even before this revelation. He did some silly trolling,
akin to what one might expect from a Jr. High kid, and got abusive almost at
random. This was hard to conceive of, considering his degree and license.

The same Mark Morin!

Another reader said here: "What comes around goes around"

It seems very apt.

Even if he were not guilty of the crime for which he is being
convicted, his behaviour was eventually going to get him into big
trouble in one way or another. If you go through life antagonising
and abusing everybody you meet who you do not want to impress,
something is eventually going to bite you. Perhaps he may have
time to reflect on this from his cell.

You are right that his abuse was surprising considering his
professional role. I could not understand his choice of profession.
He seemed to take an active dislike to anybody who was not a
professional. How he survived day after day of dealing with people he
appeared to despise is a mystery.

Gene, I doubt that his abusiveness is as random as you state.
I have not been in this NG for the same amount of time as others may be,
but if someone were to look at the archives of this group, I am almost
nearly certain a pattern would develop which pointed out the antecedent
to the abuse.

In the case of Brad for example, Brad represents clients rights., in the
case of Curio, wasn't it because she turned in some folks for child
abuse, and to avoid further scrutiny into what he was doing in his Real
Life, he and others found character assassination the way to point the
finger away from himself.

You obviously have not been here for very long.

Brad _never_ represented "clients rights", even if he claimed to.
When Brad was challenged by other clients, he attacked them. Just
because Morin joined in gleefully into "Brad-baiting", does not give
Brad any credibility.

Curio was obsessed with child abuse. Anybody who argued that some
complaints were false, were seen by Curio as "supporting abuse". Her
obsession led to real life stalking that affected people on this group
early on. That her stalking spilled over in a far more public way
that eventually led to her demise is not surprising. Curio may or
may not have "turned people" in for child abuse, but that turning in
was just as likely to be creating problems as solving them, as she was
not objective enough to see a false allegation even if it were right
in front of her nose.

The above two people were obsessive in a destructive way.

The problem that Morin had was that he seemed to lack the ability to
analyse posts to the extent that he could agree with some issues, and
disagree with others - or see shades of grey. He was also very
arrogant - he seemed to treat his new qualification as something that
made him "right" - rather than something that showed he should have
had the ability to analyse.

AS far as Brad goes, I know nothing of brad except that there were posts
to some pages which claimed he was a Clients Rights Advocate.
So Curio and Mark were unable to see shades of gray!!
I agree from my real life encounter in this NG.
He is not the only person in the LART gang to have a very narrow
perspective even when there is supporting evidence to the contrary of
what they believe.
Thanks,

It underscores the statement that molesting children is an act of power, and
crossing of boundaries, not of sex. His trolling and internet abuse was the

Well, getting away from the subject of Morin.......

Molestation is an act of :
You may be right about the issue of power and boundaries.

But I do not understand the mantra that it has nothing to do with sex.
It's a mantra, but there is almost nothing that supports sex not being
a factor. I'd want to see studies of offenders before and after
treatment such as chemical castration. If what you say is true, such
treatments would be worthless, and be shown in such a study..
