It seems like one of the "buzz" keywords on the internet these days is Phentermine. If I understand correctly, this drug increases the heart rate and blood pressure by stimulating the central nervous system, so it acts very similar to an amphetamine. It supposed to be a short term supplement to diet and exercise to treat obesity. Apparently it is also physically and psycholically addictive.
I can't see why people would take this drug, but apparently many people do. What do you think about Phentermine? |

Here's the lowdown-
Phentermine is the generic form of Adipex-P, has been around for some 40 years now and is used as an appetite suppressant for the treatment of obesity. The list of side effects, when I looked into this drug, was as long as my arm and included (all possible) cardiovascular side effects, cardiopulmonary side effects, central nervous system side effects, gastrointestinal side effects and allergic and endocrine side effects. (FYI, the latter includes impotence and limited sex drive.) There is a site called beforeyoubuydietpills.com that anyone should check out before they buy diet pills. |
